The world of bridal wear is set for some changes in 2016, here’s a few of the biggest predicted trends for wedding dresses…

Traditional with a twist – 1920s styles with drop waists were huge on the Spring bridal catwalks, but for a more contemporary look the designs were in a mixture of nude coloured and daring sheer materials to create the illusion of a transparent dress for a risqué take on an elegant classic silhouette. Long sleeves have become more popular thanks to the Duchess of Cambridge, but brides are now updating the classic look with plunging necklines or open-backs for a more modern and youthful look.

Minimalism – Simple shapes are set to be popular, which is a great choice for brides who prefer a more clean look and design. Find simple shift dresses, fitted ball-gowns and princess ball-gowns in beautiful pure white silks, satins, organzas and tulles.

3D – 3D embellishments, particularly floral decorations are set to be bigger and better in 2016. For the more daring bride, a dress in a simple style covered entirely in small 3D floral embellishments can make a real statement. For a more understated take on the trend large florals covering long or short sleeves, or a cluster around the waistline to draw the eye in look beautiful. On a flowing skirt, tiny 3D embellishments dispersing from the waist to the bottom of the dress create stunning ethereal look.

Volume – Princess gowns will be even bigger in 2016 as seen during Spring 2016 New York Bridal Fashion, layer upon layer of voluminous material will provide you with the princess skirt you deserve, and for this trend it really is the bigger the better. For chic and modern twist on the classic princess gown, swap a sweetheart neckline for a fitted bodice with spaghetti straps for a ballerina look, or for the more daring bride a plunging neckline can help balance out the skirt.
