We can’t get away from the fact it’s warmer than our usual summers. Discussing the weather seems to be a national hobby! As you grow up you hear family & friends always discussing the weather & you think you will never do that, roll on 20 years and you find yourself discussing how warm/cold/wet/windy it is with customers/guests/your hairdresser/person serving you in the supermarket.
We all seem obsessed with our weather, I have memories of summer holidays in the caravan with a generator running the TV & you had to be quiet for the 6.30pm local weather report. Now I find myself using a weather app to plan my week.
When planning your wedding you imagine your weather being pleasant though given the fact we as an island experience such a range of conditions little thought goes into what if…
At Milsom Weddings we always have a plan B, we find we have to be prepared for all weathers. From having umbrellas available all year round to being able to cook a BBQ undercover (well almost under cover – the food stays dry but maybe not the staff).
We have hosted weddings in all conditions and we always hear “the weather didn’t spoil the day”. We pride ourselves in accommodating your every need regardless of the weather. If it’s raining then we can provide the perfect backdrop for photos inside, if it’s too hot then we can move your drinks reception into the shade for example.
Your photographer will be able to provide guidance on the best time/location for your photos, even if it means taking time off after your wedding breakfast once the temperature has dropped to get those all important photos.
There are many products on the market to help in the heat, make up setting sprays, highly recommend by our events team to ensure your make up stays in place all day, to cooling sprays to mini fans, all of these things can help.
I’m sure this year will be discussed going forward as the hottest year and “we don’t have summers like we used to in 2018/2003/1976” – delete based on your age!
