Milsom Weddings

Springtime is becoming an evermore popular time of year to get married. Although there is often a little chill in the air, the days feel lighter and fresher as we leave the darker winter days behind. With this in mind, here are some great ideas for you if you are thinking about getting married at this special time of year!

Colour Palettes

One of the many great things about a springtime wedding is the huge variety of colour palettes you can go for. Anything from a bright yellow, to a pale blue or white go really well with the fresh themes that springtime brings along. Certain colour palettes really look fantastic when the bridesmaids and groomsmen have opposing colours, for example classic coral for the bridesmaids and a cool grey for the groomsmen.

Flower Choices

Just like with colour palettes, springtime really broadens your horizons when it comes to your flower choices. You’d have a struggle trying to find a flower arrangement that doesn’t look good at a spring wedding as most colours and shapes look fantastic. Including them on table arrangements can really make your reception a lot more intimate and they can even be used as part of the brides headwear.

Dresses

The brides dress in the spring really stands out when it has flowered detailing near the bottom and around the arms. You may even want to have coloured bow around the waist that matches the bridesmaids’ dresses to add a little extra colour. The bridesmaids’ dresses look fantastic in a bright shade, such as coral or light purple when alongside the brides white dress. They even look great when they are in a spectrum of colours, which means that the white of the brides dress takes centre stage – as it should!

Think of your guests too!

Placing some fire-pits outside will keep guests warm while they mingle, kids would love toasting marshmallows over them too. Go the extra mile and create your invites so that they look like festival tickets or provide guests with personalised lanyards so they have something to keep after your special day, printing out pictures of your guests and pegging them along string as the seating plan also has a fun and rustic vibe.
