Disability and Discrimination Act 1995

Talbooth Restaurant guests are reminded that this is a 16th century listed building and the owners have conformed to all necessary requirements in the Disability and Discrimination Act 1995 within planning regulations. The main restaurant (The River Room) is on the ground floor, but guests booking our private dining room (The Weavers Room) should be aware that it is only accessible by stairs. However, The River Room is available for private parties of 40 or more.

The venue features the following:

  • Two disabled parking bays
  • Ramp to front entrance
  • Disabled toilet facilities
  • River Room Restaurant, lounge and bar areas are on the ground floor
  • Two steps to terrace but ramp access via car park and garden

Talbooth House & Spa

Guests are reminded that this is a Victorian building. There are no designated disabled bedrooms but there are five bedrooms on the ground floor; all five are spacious with walk-in showers. Help can be provided if required.

Access to the hotel is currently available through the front door including five steps, along with a ramp through the terrace entrance so that guests can have access through another entrance.

Please inform staff at time of booking if you or a guest have special requirements.

Milsoms Kesgrave Hall

Milsoms Kesgrave Hall features the following:

  • 2 allotted accessible parking bays
  • Restaurant, bar, private dining, lounge are all on the ground floor with no steps
  • Accessible toilet facilities
  • A designated ground floor bedroom with disabled facilities

The Pier at Harwich

Guests are reminded that The Pier at Harwich is a listed building, but the owners have conformed to all of the necessary requirements of the Disability and Discrimination Act 1995 within planning regulations.

The venue features the following:

  • Disabled parking bay
  • Access via a ramp at the rear of the building
  • Ha’penny Restaurant and bar on the ground floor
  • Guests should note that The Harbourside Restaurant is on the first floor and has limited access, but we are more than happy to serve the A la carte menu in the Ha’Penny Restaurant if you are unable to access the first floor
  • All the bedrooms are either on the first or second floors, apart from one ground floor bedroom in an adjacent building

This does not fully conform to disabled standards, but there are full disabled toilet facilities within the building. Please inform staff at time of booking if you or a guest have special requirements.
