Milsom Weddings

When it comes to looking for wedding inspiration, celebrities are often the first people we turn to for ideas for our big days – which celebrity weddings have you been most inspired by?

As Milsom Weddings’ venues are based in the depths of the Essex and Suffolk countryside, we can’t help but love a country wedding, so we’re going to be sharing with you our top 5 celebrity big days that took place in some stunning rural landscapes.

Mark Wright & Michelle Keegan

TV personalities Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan tied the knot in a romantic, picture-perfect ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds before hosting their reception at Hengrave Hall, a venue catered for by Milsom Weddings.

A stunning choice in the beautiful rolling countryside of Suffolk, Hengrave Hall is full of character and charm and many of the official wedding photos were taken in the grounds of the Tudor mansion.

A traditional and elegant day with beautifully simple flowers, a classic yet modern wedding dress, iconic black suits, a delicious sit-down wedding breakfast and an unforgettable evening reception. The Keegan-Wright wedding is a perfect example of how less can be more, especially when you choose a venue that makes such a statement.

Mandy Moore & Taylor Goldsmith

One of the most stunning weddings to ever hit LA, This Is Us actress Mandy Moore tied the knot with fiancé, Taylor Goldsmith in a beautiful at-home ceremony that was simply opulent in every possible way.

From the iconic pink tulle wedding dress to the floors covered in vintage kilim rugs, their home was decorated with pink and neutral coloured pampas blooms and made to feel light, open and airy.

The groom wore a simple two piece suit, tie and slide on shoes, keeping a semi-traditional yet laid back feel, much like the whole day.

A real showcase for how dusky pinks, and feathery textures are so on-trend, not just for summer weddings but winter too.

Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank

We may not all be able to achieve the full flamboyancy of a royal wedding but we can certainly take inspiration from this traditional and glamorous way of tying the knot and Princess Eugenie’s wedding to wine merchant Jack Brooksbank is a day from 2018 no one will forget.

A perfect example of a classic British country wedding, in true royal style the occasion was hosted at Windsor Castle.

Princess Eugenie’s dress bucked modern designs and went back to the classic ballgown shape whilst the groom’s party opted for traditional morning suits with tailcoats, igniting a desire to host a beautifully old school wedding for so many engaged couples.

Joe Wicks & Rosie Jones

Back in June, fitness expert and the face behind The Body Coach, Joe Wicks married girlfriend Rosie Jones in a stunning secluded woodland ceremony – and we’ve been swooning ever since!

The couple said ‘I do’ in a boho style woodland clearing before filling their countryside landscape with G&T bars, food trucks and fairground rides for their guests to enjoy! They did have an indoor area to their venue, a converted barn-style space that was fitted with DJ decks and a dancefloor that was well used until the sun went down!

Outdoor ceremonies are a beautiful choice for countryside and boho themed weddings and Milsom Weddings have two venues where outdoor ceremonies can take place. Maison Talbooth in Essex has a stunning poolside ceremony area that can host licensed ceremonies or if you want something even more secluded, just like Joe Wicks, Kesgrave Hall has a woodland clearing for unlicensed ceremonies, the perfect hideaway for an intimate blessing service.

Geri Halliwell & Christian Horner

Best known for her part in the iconic girl band, the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell ditched her union jack mini dress for a stunning Philippa Lepley lace gown back in 2015 when she married now husband, Christian Horner.

The pair hosted their ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Woburn before heading to Woburn Abbey for the reception and evening celebrations, a classic rural venue with acres and acres of grounds that proved perfect for creating their stunning wedding photographs.

As with many country weddings, the Horner’s wedding was effortlessly traditional with classic morning suits for the men, beautiful bouquets of white and pink flowers and a simple reception with a delicious sit-down meal and plenty of partying with friends into the night.

So, these celebrity weddings prove that wherever you are in the UK, a classic countryside wedding is more than achievable and these traditional rural days are still very much on-trend.

Which celebrity wedding stands out to you as the most iconic?
