William & Kirsty Wedding Moments Q&A
Why did you choose Talbooth Restaurant?
A combination of great food and great location. Having Idle Waters Cottage just across the river for the night before, and Talbooth House & Spa just up the road for all our friends and family made it the perfect package for us.
The wedding morning
The bridal party stayed at Idle Waters Cottage the night before, which was the perfect setting – it meant we could watch the set up in the marquee and the guests arriving. It made for a lovely relaxed morning.
The wedding breakfast
Chargrilled Asparagus with poached egg, mieux mustard mayonnaise, Parmesan bonbon and rocket
Fillet of Beef Welling, dauphinoise potato, shallots, fine beans and Madeira jus
“Death by Chocolate” chocolate cake, chocolate soil, honeycomb and chocolate ice-cream
The evening food
Street food – paella, burgers and pie & mash!
The finer details
It was a relaxed family affair, and we wanted the décor to reflect that. So, we went for a simple, but elegant theme of flower arches, natural foliage and vintage mirrors.
Most memorable part of your day
Having all our friends and family in the same place with good food, lively music and a great setting. Taking the boat after the ceremony, and arriving at Talbooth Restaurant to see all our family on the lawns was pretty special as well.
Top planning tip
Focus on you and what you want. The day really goes by in a flash, and as lovely as all the little details and extras can be, they won’t be your memories. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the stress of the small details, but leave that to the professionals and just focus on the two of you!
